Ronda Harris Hines

Chief Culture & Belonging Officer, Year Up United

As Chief Culture & Belonging Officer, Ronda leads strategies that foster belonging and strengthen organizational culture such that all employees can grow, contribute, and succeed.

Ronda joined Year Up United in 2007 and has served in several critical leadership roles, including Executive Director of Year Up National Capital Region for four years, where she grew the site by 50% and led the region’s expansion. She also served as Senior Director of Program and Academics, where she implemented a groundbreaking dual enrollment partnership with Northern Virginia Community College that laid the foundation for Year Up United’s community college partnerships nationwide.

Immediately prior to her current role, Ronda served as the organization's first National Director of Alumni Relations, where she built Year Up United’s national alumni strategy to ensure tens of thousands of alumni continue advancing in their careers and education, contributing to the organization, and taking action in the Opportunity Movement.

Before joining Year Up United, Ronda held several positions that deepened her expertise in youth development, leadership, and organizational culture. She served as Deputy Director for City Year in Washington, D.C., where she oversaw program operations, training, corps member support, service initiatives, and management and compliance of the site’s annual $10M federal grant. Her previous experience also includes serving as Public Information Officer and Acting Director of the Public Affairs Office for the District of Columbia Housing Authority, as well as Public Affairs Specialist for the U.S. Agency for International Development.

A native Washingtonian, Ronda graduated from Bowie State University, the oldest Historically Black College and University in Maryland, with a B.S. in Psychology and holds a Master of Science in Administration with a concentration in Organizational Development.
