Aimee Sargent

Managing Director of Development, Year Up United

Aimee Sargent is Managing Director of Development at Year Up United, where she leads the team responsible for securing philanthropic support from individuals and families, foundations, and corporations to advance the organization's mission. With more than 23 years of experience spanning nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, education, and workforce development, Aimee specializes in fundraising strategy, corporate partnerships, donor engagement, and revenue generation. 

Prior to her current role, Aimee served as Senior Director of Corporate Philanthropy at Year Up United, leading the national team responsible for stewarding the organization's largest corporate partners. In this role, she oversaw relationships with companies investing financial resources, employee engagement, and strategic assets to help close the Opportunity Divide and expand access to economic opportunity. 

Before joining Year Up United in 2021, Aimee spent 12 years at the national nonprofit Citizen Schools, where she held a range of leadership positions and most recently served as Chief External Engagement Officer. In that role, she led the organization's marketing efforts and oversaw both public and private revenue generation, helping to strengthen stakeholder engagement and organizational growth. 

Aimee began her career at an education technology subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc., where she worked closely with families and students before advancing into leadership roles overseeing multiple business units across the San Francisco Bay Area. Throughout her career, she has remained focused on expanding access to education, workforce opportunities, and economic mobility for underserved communities. 

Her areas of expertise include philanthropy, corporate partnerships, fundraising strategy, foundation relations, stakeholder engagement, workforce development, nonprofit leadership, and external engagement. 

Aimee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Miami University. She lives outside Boston with her husband and their three children.
